This market that started from a premium vegetable vendor street that sold high-quality vegetables to rich foreigners. Inheritance from its origin gave this market several unique features. For instance, there are information desks and self-office which supports foreign travelers as well as merchants who visit the market. Also, it is a market rich with delicious markets foods and original restaurants of many franchise shops.

Sinpomandoo (신포우리만두) is one of the case. They once held a branch at the writer’s hometown. I used to go there with my mom to enjoy jjolmyeon (a cold noodle similar to naengmyeon, the one generally translated as cold noodle, but has a thicker noodle and only served with hot sauce) and mandoo (dumpling). To give you a little tip, they have several choices for the hot sauce (in terms of how ‘HOT’ they are….) and as a very healthy Korean kid who enjoys shinramen without feeling it hot, I felt the least hot one comfortable, and the middle one a bit hot. So if you’re not that strong on hot (in Korean standard) items, don’t have second thoughts and just choose the least hot one.
